The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) came into force on the 31st December 2014 and mandates that Large Organisations audit their estates, establish opportunities for saving energy in 4 year cycles.
Businesses are defined as being a large organisation if:
They employ more than 250 employees or…
…have a turnover and balance sheet exceeding
€50 million and €43 million respectively
